Effective July 3, 2026. By using RoleReady, you agree to these Terms of Service. Please read them carefully.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By creating an account or otherwise accessing or using RoleReady (the "Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service. These Terms form a binding agreement between you and RoleReady ("we," "us," or "our").

2. What RoleReady Does

RoleReady is a job search workspace. Depending on your plan, it lets you:

Track job applications through a Kanban-style pipeline and save postings to a personal Job Bank.
Capture job postings from external sites using our Chrome browser extension.
Build and store resumes, and tailor them to a specific job with AI assistance.
Draft cover letters, outreach emails, and other correspondence.
Prepare for interviews with generated questions, strategy notes, and per-job research.
Research companies, compare offers, and manage contacts and interviews on a calendar.
Maintain a Knowledge Bank of your skills, experience, education, certifications, and projects that feeds the features above.

We may add, change, or remove features at any time. Feature availability varies by plan; see our Pricing page for what each plan includes.

3. Accounts & Eligibility

Eligibility: You must be at least 16 years old to create an account. By creating an account you represent that you meet this requirement and are legally able to enter into this agreement.
Accurate information: Provide accurate, complete registration information and keep it current.
Account security: You are responsible for keeping your credentials secure and for all activity under your account. Tell us right away at legal@roleready.me if you believe your account has been compromised.
One account per person: You may maintain only one personal account.
Sign-in methods: You can sign in with email and password, or with a linked Google or GitHub account. The provider's own terms also apply when you use those sign-in options.

4. Acceptable Use

You may use RoleReady for personal job searching, career development, and preparing professional documents. You agree not to:

Use the Service for any unlawful purpose, or in a way that violates these Terms or any applicable third-party terms (including the terms of job sites you capture postings from).
Scrape, crawl, or otherwise extract data from the Service in an automated way, or attempt unauthorized access to other users' data or to our systems.
Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the Service, or try to bypass any usage limits or rate limits.
Share, sell, or transfer your account credentials, or resell access to the Service.
Submit content that is unlawful, infringes someone else's rights, or contains malware or harmful code.
Use AI-generated output to misrepresent your qualifications, experience, or identity to an employer or anyone else.
Interfere with the Service's operation or overload it, or use it in a way that could damage or impair it.

We may suspend or restrict access if we believe you have violated these rules, and we may report activity where required by law.

5. Your Content

"Your Content" means everything you add to your account: resumes, cover letters, job postings, notes, Knowledge Bank entries, contacts, calendar details, documents, and any instructions you give the AI features.

Ownership: You keep ownership of Your Content.
License to process: To provide the Service, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive, worldwide license to host, store, transmit, and process Your Content as described in our Privacy Policy, including processing it through our AI providers to produce the outputs you request.
Your responsibility: You are responsible for the accuracy and lawfulness of Your Content, and for having the right to store and process it through RoleReady. You are responsible for the consequences of anything you send to an employer or third party that you produced with RoleReady.

You can export Your Content at any time and delete your account, which removes Your Content as described in our Privacy Policy.

6. AI-Assisted Outputs

Several features use AI models to generate or rewrite content, including resume tailoring, cover letters and emails, interview questions and prep, company research, and job-posting extraction.

Outputs are aids, not guarantees. AI output may contain inaccuracies, omissions, or awkward phrasing. You must review everything before you use or send it.
Your review. RoleReady is designed so you review AI output before it is saved or sent. You decide what to keep, edit, or discard.
No outcome promised. We do not promise that using RoleReady will lead to an interview, offer, or job, and we are not responsible for hiring decisions made by employers based on content you produce with the Service.
How it's processed. AI features are delivered through a third-party model provider. The inputs needed to produce an output (for example, your resume text, a job description, and relevant Knowledge Bank details) are sent to that provider. See our Privacy Policy for details.

7. Browser Extension & Third-Party Sites

Our Chrome extension captures job postings you choose to save from third-party websites (for example, LinkedIn, Indeed, Glassdoor, Greenhouse, Lever, Workday, and others). When you use it:

You are responsible for complying with the terms of service of any website you capture content from, and with applicable law.
The extension works on pages you actively visit and only saves what you choose to add to your board. It does not continuously monitor your browsing.
Captured postings are processed to extract structure (title, company, location, salary, description) and may be refined with AI. Extraction may not perfectly reflect the original posting, so review before relying on it.

8. Subscriptions & Billing

Plans. We offer a Free plan and a paid Pro plan. Free includes up to 40 tracked jobs and per-feature daily AI limits; Pro is offered as a monthly subscription. Current pricing and limits are on our Pricing page.
Payment processor. Paid subscriptions are billed through our payment provider, Polar (polar.sh), which acts as the merchant of record. Payment details are handled by the provider; we do not collect or store your full card number.
Renewal & cancellation. Pro renews automatically each month until you cancel. You can cancel at any time and keep access until the end of your current billing period.
Refunds. You can request a refund within 7 days of a charge by contacting billing@roleready.me. Outside that window, fees are generally non-refundable, though we will consider requests in exceptional circumstances.
Price changes. We may change our fees with reasonable advance notice. A price change takes effect at your next renewal after the notice, and you can cancel before then to avoid the new charge.
Taxes. You are responsible for any applicable taxes on your subscription.

9. Third-Party Services

The Service connects to and relies on third parties, including our hosting and database provider, file storage, the AI model provider, email delivery, the payment provider, and, if you connect it, your Google Calendar. We are not responsible for the behavior, availability, or terms of these third parties. If you link an external account (such as Google Calendar), you control that connection and can revoke it from your settings, which stops our access going forward.

10. Disclaimers

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available." To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, whether express or implied, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free, or that AI outputs will be accurate or suitable for your situation. Job search outcomes are not guaranteed.

11. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, in no event will RoleReady be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, income, or job opportunities, arising out of or related to the Service. Our total aggregate liability for any claim arising from the Service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim (or, for Free plan users, US $50). Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law (such as liability for gross negligence or willful misconduct in some jurisdictions).

12. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold RoleReady harmless from claims, damages, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from Your Content, your misuse of AI-generated output, your violation of these Terms or third-party rights, or your violation of the terms of any website you capture content from.

13. Termination

You can leave anytime. You can delete your account at any time from within the app (Settings > Privacy & Data). Deleting your account cancels any active Pro subscription and removes Your Content as described in our Privacy Policy.
We can suspend or terminate. We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms, create security risks, or where required by law. We'll try to give you notice and a chance to fix a curable issue where practical.
Effect of termination. When your account ends, your right to use the Service stops. Provisions that by their nature should survive (such as ownership, disclaimers, liability, and indemnification) remain in effect.

14. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. For material changes we will give you notice (for example, by email or an in-app message) before the changes take effect. If you keep using the Service after the effective date, you accept the updated Terms. If you disagree with a material change, you can cancel your subscription and delete your account as described above.

15. Disputes & Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Except where prohibited, any dispute arising from these Terms or the Service will be resolved through binding individual arbitration rather than in court, unless you opt out by notifying us at legal@roleready.me within 30 days of first agreeing to these Terms. Nothing here prevents either party from seeking injunctive relief in a court of competent jurisdiction for intellectual property or confidentiality matters.

16. Miscellaneous

Entire agreement: These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, are the entire agreement between you and RoleReady about the Service.
Severability: If any part of these Terms is found unenforceable, the rest remains in effect.
Assignment: You may not assign your rights or obligations under these Terms without our consent; we may assign them in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.
No waiver: Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver of our right to enforce it later.
Notices: We may contact you by email to the address on your account. Legal notices to us go to legal@roleready.me.
